Ingredients

  • 1 box 16 oz saltine crackers
  • 1 cup canola oil
  • 1 packet 1 oz ranch dressing mix
  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Prepare the Coating

  • – In a large mixing bowl, combine canola oil, ranch dressing mix, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Whisk until the seasoning is well blended with the oil.

Coat the Crackers

  • – Place the saltine crackers in a large resealable bag or a deep container. Pour the seasoned oil mixture over the crackers, seal the bag or cover the container, and gently shake to evenly coat all the crackers.

Let Them Absorb the Flavors

  • – Allow the crackers to sit for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, shaking occasionally to ensure even coating. This step lets the flavors fully soak in.

Bake for Extra Crispiness (Optional)

  • – For a crunchier texture, preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C), spread the crackers in a single layer on a baking sheet, and bake for 15-20 minutes. Let them cool before serving.

Serve and Enjoy

  • – Once ready, serve your Alabama Firecrackers as a snack, pair them with dips, or pack them for a flavorful treat on the go. Store leftovers in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
