  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth Use low-sodium if preferred.
  • 1 cup milk Dairy-free alternatives can be used.
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables Can substitute with fresh or other frozen vegetables.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 8 oz egg noodles Can substitute with gluten-free pasta.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional) Can be omitted for a dairy-free version.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef and onions.
  • Add mushrooms and cook until soft.
  • Stir in beef broth, milk, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • In a baking dish, combine the cooked meat mixture with frozen mixed vegetables and cooked egg noodles.
  • Top with shredded cheese if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, until heated through and cheese is melted.

Notes

For optimal results, drain excess fat after browning the beef, cook egg noodles al dente, and use low-sodium broth if monitoring sodium intake.
