  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Cooking the beef and onion

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.

Cooking the rice

  • Stir in the rice, beef broth, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 18-20 minutes until rice is tender.

Finishing touches

  • Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon.
  • Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
