Ingredients
  

For the Crust

  • 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs (such as Oreo, without filling)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

For the Filling

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped Use high-quality chocolate for the best results.
  • ½ cup heavy cream Heat gently to avoid boiling.
  • ¼ cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 pinch salt

For Garnish (Optional)

  • Whipped cream
  • Chocolate shavings or curls
  • Cocoa powder or sea salt flakes

Instructions
 

Make the Crust

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cookie crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Stir until the mixture resembles wet sand and holds together when pressed.
  • Firmly press the mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan using the back of a spoon or a flat-bottomed glass to create an even layer.
  • Place the crust in the refrigerator to chill while you prepare the filling.

Prepare the Filling

  • In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Do not boil.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and immediately add the chopped chocolate, Baileys Irish Cream, butter, and a pinch of salt.
  • Let the mixture sit undisturbed for about 2 minutes to allow the chocolate to soften.
  • Stir gently until the filling becomes smooth, glossy, and fully combined.

Assemble the Tart

  • Remove the chilled crust from the refrigerator and carefully pour the chocolate filling into the crust.
  • Use a spatula to smooth the top evenly.

Chill

  • Refrigerate the tart for at least 4 hours, or until the filling is fully set and firm to the touch.

Serve

  • Just before serving, garnish with whipped cream, chocolate shavings or curls, a dusting of cocoa powder, or a sprinkle of sea salt flakes.
  • Slice with a sharp knife, wiping the blade clean between cuts for neat slices.

Notes

Store the tart covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. This dessert is best made a day ahead, allowing flavors to develop fully.
