  • 0.5 cups nut butter Experiment with different nut butters, like almond or peanut butter.
  • 2 cups rolled oats Use certified gluten-free rolled oats for a gluten-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup You can reduce the amount or replace it with another sweetener.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Feel free to add more on top before baking.
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9x9 baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mix together the mashed bananas, nut butter, rolled oats, cinnamon, vanilla extract, maple syrup, chocolate chips, and salt.
  • Transfer the mixture to the lined baking pan and flatten it into a flat, even layer.
  • Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until the edges are golden and the bars are set.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. Refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to three months. Thaw before enjoying.
