Ingredients

Brownie Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Raspberry Swirl Ingredients

  • 1 cup raspberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (for raspberries)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until everything is well combined.
  • In a small bowl, mix raspberries with 1 tablespoon of sugar, mashing slightly to release their juices.

Assembly

  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Spoon dollops of the raspberry mixture over the brownie batter, then pour the remaining brownie batter on top.
  • Use a knife or skewer to swirl the raspberry mixture through the batter for a marbled effect.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let cool before cutting into squares and serve.

Notes

Serve the brownies warm or at room temperature. They are delicious on their own but can be enjoyed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days, refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
