  • 0.5 tsp Salt Enhances the flavor profiles.

Creaming Components

  • 0.5 cups Unsalted Butter (Softened) Essential for trapping air during the creaming process.
  • 1 cups Granulated Sugar Provides sweetness and helps tenderize the crumb.

  • 2 large Eggs Added one at a time for stable emulsion.
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract Adds comforting fragrance.
  • 0.5 cups Milk Provides hydration for a silky batter.

The Star Ingredient

  • 1.5 cups Fresh Blueberries Tossed with 1 tablespoon of flour to prevent sinking.

Instructions

Phase 1: Prep and Creaming

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light, fluffy, and pale in color.

Phase 2: Building the Batter

  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt).
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk until just combined.

Phase 3: Folding and Baking

  • Gently fold in the flour-coated blueberries using a spatula.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the pan and bake for 35–40 minutes.
  • Check for doneness with a toothpick inserted into the center; it should come out clean.

Notes

Ensure eggs and milk are at room temperature before use. A light dusting of powdered sugar can be added once the cake has cooled completely for an elegant finish.
