For the Hawaiian Roll Base

  • 1 pack (12 count) King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls Essential for signature sweetness and soft texture

For the Vanilla Cream Filling

  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream Divided; high fat content is key for stability
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar To sweeten the cream without making it gritty
  • 1 small box (3.4 oz) Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix Provides the classic custard flavor and helps the filling set quickly
  • 1 cup Cold Whole Milk To mix with the pudding

For the Chocolate Ganache Topping

  • 1/2 cup Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips Use high-quality chips for a smoother melt
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream To create a glossy, pourable ganache
  • Optional: Sprinkles or powdered sugar for garnish For decoration

Instructions
 

Preparation of Rolls

  • Take the pack of Hawaiian rolls out of the container. Do not pull them apart! Use a small knife or a straw to poke a hole into the top or side of each roll to create a pocket.

Making the Pastry Cream

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and 1 cup of cold milk. Let sit for 2-3 minutes until thickened.

Filling the Bites

  • Transfer the cream mixture into a piping bag. Insert the tip into the holes made in the rolls and squeeze gently until the roll expands. Avoid overfilling.

Making the Chocolate Glaze

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and remaining ¼ cup of heavy cream. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and glossy.

Dipping and Decorating

  • Spread chocolate over each roll or dip the tops directly into the chocolate. Add powdered sugar or white chocolate shavings as garnish.

Notes

Use cold milk for best results. Chill before serving and consider lightly toasting the rolls for added texture.
