  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 package puff pastry Use thawed frozen puff pastry.

  • to taste Ground cinnamon (optional)

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven according to the puff pastry package instructions.
  • Peel and slice the apples.
  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon, cooking until the apples are tender.
  • Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into squares.
  • Place a spoonful of the caramel apple mixture in the center of each square.
  • Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges.
  • Bake until golden brown.
  • Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.

Notes

To store leftovers, let cool completely and keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for a few minutes to restore crispiness. For variations, consider adding nuts or chocolate to the filling.
