Ingredients

For the chicken nuggets

  • 2 pieces chicken breasts, cut into chunks
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • to taste salt & pepper
  • 100 g cheddar cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • vegetable oil for deep frying
  • a pinch chili flakes (optional) for spice

Instructions

Preparation

  • Season the chicken chunks with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Flatten each piece of chicken slightly. Place a cube of cheddar in the center and shape the chicken around it to seal.
  • Repeat the process for all pieces. Chill in the freezer for 10 minutes to help maintain their shape.

Coating

  • Coat each nugget by dipping in flour, then egg, and then breadcrumbs to ensure they are fully coated.

Cooking

  • Heat oil to 175°C (350°F) and fry nuggets until golden brown, which should take about 3–4 minutes per side.
  • Let them drain on paper towels and serve hot for the best cheese pull!

Notes

For a lighter option, air-frying is a great alternative. Ensure each nugget is sealed well to prevent leaks during frying.
