  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp butter

Preparation

  • Wash and cut the russet potatoes into even wedges, leaving the skin on for extra texture and nutrition.
  • Toss the potato wedges with olive oil, ranch seasoning, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Heat a large cast iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat.
  • Add the seasoned potato wedges and cook for 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  • Add the sliced smoked sausage to the skillet with the potatoes and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sausage is heated through and caramelized.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and add butter to the skillet. Once melted, pour in the heavy cream and gently stir to create a creamy base.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the potato and sausage mixture. Cover the skillet and let cook for 3-4 minutes until the cheese melts completely.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately while the cheese is still stretchy and the potatoes are hot and crispy.

Notes

To store leftovers, let the Cheesy Sausage Potatoes cool completely. Transfer them to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 3 days. If freezing, consume within 2 months.
