Ingredients
  

For the cookie dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (optional) Use if you want a creamy sweetness.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the dried cranberries, orange zest, and white chocolate chips if using.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 4 days. To freeze, place cooled cookies in a single layer on a tray, freeze until firm, then transfer to a freezer bag for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature.
