Ingredients
  

Cake Base

  • 1 package chocolate cake mix
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips Divided
  • 1/2 cup melted butter 1 stick
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 22×30 cm baking pan.
  • Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over the bottom of the baking pan.
  • Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips on top.
  • Pour the dry cake mix evenly over the filling.
  • Pour milk over the cake mix, then slowly pour melted butter over the surface.
  • Top with the remaining chocolate chips and do not stir.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40–45 minutes until the top is puffed and slightly crispy.
  • Let it rest for 10–15 minutes, then serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Add mini marshmallows or cocoa powder for a richer chocolate flavor, or try raspberry/blackberry filling instead of cherries. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat individual slices in the microwave before serving.
