  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips Optional, for added richness

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Beat in the cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until smooth.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Optionally, sprinkle chocolate chips on top for an extra chocolatey touch.

Baking

  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
