  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
  • Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread the batter into the prepared pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Do not overcook.
  • Let cool before cutting into squares.

Notes

Cut into small squares and serve at room temperature. For added indulgence, warm a square slightly and add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
