Ingredients
  

Pie Batter

  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet recommended)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a pie plate or 9×9-inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.

Make the Cookie Batter

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and glossy.
  • Add the vanilla extract and the egg, mixing until fully incorporated.

Add Dry Ingredients

  • Gradually sift in the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Gently fold until combined, being careful not to overmix.

Add Chocolate Chips

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top.

Bake to Perfection

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown and slightly firm to the touch. The center should still be soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or refrigerate and warm individual slices before serving.
