Cheesecake Layer Ingredients

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

Brownie Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and chopped semi-sweet chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth and glossy. Let cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs. Pour in the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and completely combined.
  • Fold in the all-purpose flour and salt, being careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Allow to cool completely.

Cheesecake Layer Preparation

  • Beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture to create a fluffy cheesecake layer.

Assembling the Trifle

  • Once the brownies are cool, cut them into bite-sized squares.
  • Layer in a trifle dish or individual cups: brownie squares, cheesecake mixture, chocolate syrup. Repeat until all components are used, finishing with the cheesecake layer.
  • Top with whole Oreo cookies and an extra drizzle of chocolate syrup. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Notes

Use room-temperature cream cheese for a smooth mixture. Chill overnight for even richer, more flavorful layers. Customize with toppings like nuts, berries, or flavored Oreos.
