Ingredients
  

For the Pancakes

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (125g)
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (25g)
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 cup milk (240ml)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter or oil Use oil for dairy-free.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional) For extra chocolate flavor

For the Sundae

  • to taste Vanilla or chocolate ice cream
  • to taste Hot fudge or chocolate sauce
  • to taste Whipped cream
  • to taste Cherries
  • to taste Chocolate shavings or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, butter, and vanilla.
  • Pour the wet mix into the dry mix and stir until just combined. Don't overmix — small lumps are fine. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
  • Heat a greased pan over medium heat. Pour batter (about 1/4 cup per pancake).
  • Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until set. Keep pancakes warm.

Assembly

  • Stack warm chocolate pancakes on a plate.
  • Add a scoop or two of ice cream.
  • Drizzle hot fudge or chocolate sauce over the top.
  • Top with whipped cream and a cherry. Sprinkle chocolate shavings or nuts if desired.

Notes

Serve pancakes warm so the ice cream melts just slightly. Customize toppings for personal preferences.
