Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts for topping and garnish

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a Bundt pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth and even. Do not overmix.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Frost with a simple chocolate glaze and sprinkle chopped walnuts on top.
  • Slice the cake and serve. Add whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for contrast.

Notes

For best results, measure flour by spooning it into the cup and leveling it. Use room-temperature ingredients. If using a nonstick Bundt pan, still grease lightly. Variations include using pecans or chocolate chips.
