  • 4 pieces bone-in pork chops Use bone-in for more flavor.
  • 1 cup buttermilk For marinating the pork chops.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For dredging the pork chops.
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup bacon Cooked and crumbled.
  • 2 cups chicken broth For making the gravy.
  • 2 tbsp butter For making the gravy.
  • Black pepper To taste.

Preparation

  • Marinate the pork chops in buttermilk for at least one hour to keep the meat tender and juicy.
  • In a shallow dish, mix the flour and salt together.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Dredge the marinated pork chops in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess flour.
  • Fry them in the skillet until golden brown on both sides, about 5-7 minutes per side.
  • Once cooked, remove the pork chops from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the crumbled bacon.
  • Whisk in a little flour and cook for about one minute until it turns light golden.
  • Gradually add the chicken broth while whisking continuously until the gravy thickens.
  • Serve the pork chops smothered in the rich bacon gravy.

Notes

Serve hot with creamy mashed potatoes or fluffy rice. They also pair nicely with sautéed green beans or corn.
