Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 ears Fresh corn or 2 cups canned corn, drained
  • 3 tablespoons Butter for cooking
  • 1 cup Heavy cream for richness
  • 1/2 cup Milk to adjust consistency
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar to enhance flavor
  • 2 tablespoons Herbs such as thyme or parsley, for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • If using fresh corn, shuck the corn and cut the kernels off the cob. If using canned corn, drain it well.
  • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the corn to the pan and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cooking

  • Pour in the heavy cream and milk, then stir everything together until nicely combined.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar.
  • Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently, until it thickens and becomes creamy.
  • Before serving, stir in your favorite herbs for added taste.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh corn in season, and consider pureeing part of the mixture for a smoother texture. Variations include adding cheese or other vegetables.
