Mousse Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh mango puree (from about 3 ripe mangoes)
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure cream cheese is at room temperature for easier blending.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp lemon or lime juice
  • 1 tsp unflavored gelatin Optional for extra stability.
  • 2 tbsp warm water For blooming gelatin.

Toppings

  • Fresh diced mango For topping.
  • Mint leaves For topping.
  • Whipped cream Optional for topping.

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, mix the gelatin with warm water and let it bloom for 5 minutes if using.
  • Blend the mango flesh until completely smooth to make a creamy mango puree.
  • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth and fluffy. Add the sweetened condensed milk, vanilla, and lemon juice.
  • Mix in the mango puree until fully combined. Stir in the bloomed gelatin for a firmer mousse texture if desired.
  • In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the mango mixture until light and airy, being careful not to overmix.
  • Spoon or pipe the mango mousse into serving glasses and chill for at least 2 hours until set.
  • Top with fresh mango cubes, mint leaves, and a swirl of whipped cream before serving.

Notes

To store mousse cups, cover tightly with plastic wrap or place in an airtight container. Can be kept in the refrigerator for up to three days. For the best flavor and texture, enjoy them fresh.
