  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Can substitute with dairy-free alternatives if needed.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cups chicken broth Use low-sodium broth if desired.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust based on your preference.

Cooking Steps

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned.
  • Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
  • Stir in the orzo and cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  • Add the broccoli and season with salt and pepper.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until the orzo is cooked and has absorbed most of the liquid.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, brown the sausage well, and watch the liquid as orzo absorbs it quickly. For added richness, a splash of cream or extra cheese can be added at the end.
