Ingredients

Fries Ingredients

  • 4 large Russet potatoes Best for frying due to high starch content
  • 4 cups vegetable oil For frying
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced finely
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Peel and cut the Russet potatoes into fries.
  • Soak the fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Frying

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Drain and pat the fries dry, then carefully add them to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove the fries and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Coating

  • In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and fried potatoes. Toss to coat the fries evenly.
  • Add grated Parmesan cheese, and season with salt and pepper. Toss again to mix.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

For a spicy kick, you can add red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mix. Avoid skipping soaking the potatoes for crispiness. Fry in small batches and ensure the oil is at the right temperature.
