  • 1.5 lbs 3-4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce your favorite brand or homemade
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cider vinegar

Preparation

  • Chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  • Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of the crockpot and sprinkle chopped onions and minced garlic on top.
  • In a separate bowl, combine BBQ sauce, chicken broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, and cider vinegar. Mix until smooth.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and give it a gentle stir to coat everything.
  • Cover the crockpot and set it to cook on low for 6 hours or high for 4 hours.
  • Once cooked, shred the chicken in the pot using two forks and stir it into the sauce.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for up to three months. Label the container if freezing.
