Ingredients
  

For the meatballs

  • 1 pound ground beef You can use a mix of beef and pork for richer flavor.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper Taste and adjust salt before serving.

For the sauce

  • 1 can French onion soup Using other soups will change the taste.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese You can swap mozzarella for Swiss or provolone.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs and place them in the crockpot.
  • Pour the French onion soup over the meatballs, ensuring they are well coated.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the meatballs and cover until melted.
  • Serve warm and enjoy your comforting meal!

Notes

Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days in the refrigerator. Freeze meatballs and sauce for up to 3 months.
