Ingredients
  

For the cake

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Follow package instructions for preparation.

For the cream filling

  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 stick margarine, softened
  • 1 container (8 oz) Cool Whip

For the chocolate topping

  • 1 can chocolate icing
  • 2 tbsp milk To thin the icing.

Preparation

  • Prepare the chocolate cake according to the instructions on the box. Bake it in the pan size recommended and let it cool completely.
  • In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, softened margarine, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Then, gently fold in the Cool Whip.
  • Carefully slice the cooled cake horizontally into two equal layers. Place the bottom layer on your serving plate and spread the cream filling evenly on top.
  • Mix the chocolate icing with 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth. Pour or spread the chocolate icing over the top layer of the cake.
  • Place the cake in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For clean slices, use a hot knife. Chill the cake for 2–3 hours for best results. Store covered in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
