Ingredients
  

For the Peach Filling

  • 6 pieces ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced Use ripe peaches for the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar For peaches
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Topping

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted and browned
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar For topping
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter For topping

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a medium saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until golden brown.
  • In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Toss to coat.
  • Pour the browned butter over the peach mixture and stir gently to combine.
  • Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.

Topping

  • In another bowl, whisk together flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add milk and 1/4 cup melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Spoon the batter over the peach mixture in the baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.
  • Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week. Reheat as needed.
