Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450g shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • ¼ cup white wine optional
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs panko recommended
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven:

  • Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Prepare the Shrimp:

  • In a pan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  • Add shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and paprika, and cook until they turn pink (about 2 minutes per side).
  • Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.

Make the Sauce:

  • In the same pan, add flour and stir for 1 minute to cook off the raw taste.
  • Pour in white wine (if using) and let it reduce slightly.
  • Slowly add milk and heavy cream, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  • Mix in Parmesan cheese and let it melt into the sauce.

Assemble the Gratin:

  • Place cooked shrimp in a baking dish.
  • Pour the creamy sauce over the shrimp.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top.

Prepare the Topping:

  • In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs, olive oil, and chopped parsley.
  • Evenly spread over the gratin.

Bake:

  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden and bubbly.

Serve:

  • Garnish with extra parsley and serve hot with crusty bread or over pasta

Tips & Variations:

Add veggies – Toss in mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers for extra flavor.
Make it spicier – Increase red pepper flakes or add a dash of cayenne.
Lighter option – Substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
