Ingredients
  

For the Bread Pudding

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 cups cubed bread Day-old bread works best.
  • 2 cups milk Can substitute with any non-dairy milk.
  • 4 pcs eggs
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

For the Vanilla Sauce

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
  • Add the cubed bread to the mixture and stir until well coated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and eggs until combined.
  • Pour the milk mixture over the bread and stir until the bread is soaked.
  • Fold in raisins and nuts if using.
  • Pour the bread mixture into a greased baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a knife comes out clean.

Making the Vanilla Sauce

  • Melt butter in a saucepan, add sugar, cream, and vanilla. Cook until thickened.

Serving

  • Serve warm with vanilla sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

For best results, use day-old bread for better soaking. Experiment with different bread types like brioche or challah for added flavor. Other mix-ins like chocolate chips or dried fruits can also be included.
