  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract for frosting
  • purple food coloring
  • 2 tbsp grape jam or jelly

For Decorating

  • fresh grapes for decorating
  • colorful sprinkles for decorating

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let cool completely.

Making the Grape Filling

  • While the cupcakes cool, make the grape filling by adding chopped grapes and sugar to a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Mix cornstarch with water, then stir it into the grapes.
  • Cook until thick, glossy, and jam-like.
  • Cool completely.

Filling the Cupcakes

  • Use a small knife or cupcake corer to remove the center of each cupcake.
  • Fill each cupcake with the grape compote for that sweet juicy center.

Making the Frosting

  • Beat the butter until fluffy.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in heavy cream, vanilla extract, grape jam, and purple food coloring until smooth and creamy.

Decorating

  • Pipe generous swirls of frosting onto each cupcake and top with fresh grapes and colorful sprinkles.
  • Chill slightly before serving for the best bakery-style texture and flavor.

Notes

For a stronger grape flavor, consider adding more grape jam to the frosting. Ensure your butter and eggs are at room temperature for a smoother batter. Experiment with different types of sprinkles to match your occasion.
