Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Coating

  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mix together whole wheat flour, almond flour, coconut sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In another bowl, combine applesauce, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  • Scoop small portions of the dough and roll them into bite-sized balls.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the remaining coconut sugar and cinnamon for the coating.
  • Roll each ball in the cinnamon-sugar mixture before placing them on the prepared baking sheet.

Baking

  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before serving.

Notes

You can serve Healthy Baked Churro Bites warm or at room temperature. They are delightful on their own, or you can pair them with a dip like yogurt or chocolate sauce for extra flavor.
