Ingredients
  

Cake Base

  • 1 piece Angel food cake Store-bought for convenience or homemade if preferred.

Pudding Layer

  • 1 box Instant vanilla pudding mix Substitute with lemon pudding for a tart flavor.
  • 2 cups Cold milk Ensure the milk is cold for best consistency.

Toppings

  • 1 tub Whipped topping Cool Whip or real whipped cream.
  • 1 can Cherry pie filling Classic choice, but other flavors can be used.
  • 1/2 cup Sliced almonds Optional for added crunch and decoration.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cube the angel food cake into even pieces.
  • Prepare the instant vanilla pudding by mixing it with cold milk as per package instructions.
  • Layer half of the cubed cake in a serving dish.
  • Spread half of the prepared pudding over the cake.
  • Add half of the cherry pie filling on top of the pudding.
  • Repeat the layers with the remaining cake, pudding, and pie filling.
  • Spread whipped topping over the final layer.
  • Sprinkle sliced almonds on top for garnish.

Chilling

  • Cover the dish tightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best flavor.

Notes

Avoid freezing the cake as it may alter the texture of the toppings. Make-ahead is encouraged for improved flavor.
