  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Use your favorite type of cheese for different flavors.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional) For added flavor.
  • 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed Keep cold for best results.
  • 3-4 tablespoons cold water Add gradually until the dough forms.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a food processor, combine the shredded cheese, flour, salt, and paprika.
  • Add the cubed butter and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gradually add cold water until the dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough between two sheets of parchment paper to about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Cut into desired shapes and place on a baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden.

Notes

These crackers can be served plain or with dips like salsa or guacamole. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months. To enhance crunchiness, roll the dough thinner and watch carefully while baking.
