Equipment

  • Waffle iron
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Ladle or spoon (to pour batter)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups 250g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups 420ml milk
  • 1/3 cup 75g melted butter or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Waffle Iron

  • Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Grease it lightly with cooking spray or a small amount of melted butter if needed.

Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3: Combine the Wet Ingredients

  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

Step 4: Make the Batter

  • Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few small lumps are fine.

Step 5: Cook the Waffles

  • Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron, using a ladle or spoon to spread it evenly if necessary.
  • Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, usually 4–6 minutes (time may vary depending on your waffle iron).

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy

  • Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and serve immediately with your favorite toppings, such as syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.

Notes

Tips:

  • For extra fluffiness, separate the egg yolks and whites. Beat the whites until stiff peaks form, then fold them gently into the batter.
  • Keep cooked waffles warm by placing them on a baking sheet in a 200°F (93°C) oven while you finish cooking the rest.
