Cuisine American
- 2 cups 250g all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups 420ml milk
- 1/3 cup 75g melted butter or vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Step 1: Preheat the Waffle Iron
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3: Combine the Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
Step 5: Cook the Waffles
Pour the batter into the preheated waffle iron, using a ladle or spoon to spread it evenly if necessary.
Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, usually 4–6 minutes (time may vary depending on your waffle iron).
Step 6: Serve and Enjoy
Carefully remove the waffles from the iron and serve immediately with your favorite toppings, such as syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or powdered sugar.
Tips:
- For extra fluffiness, separate the egg yolks and whites. Beat the whites until stiff peaks form, then fold them gently into the batter.
- Keep cooked waffles warm by placing them on a baking sheet in a 200°F (93°C) oven while you finish cooking the rest.
