  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • Taco shells or tortillas for assembling tacos
  • Lettuce, shredded for topping
  • Tomatoes, diced for topping
  • Cheddar cheese, shredded for topping
  • Sour cream for serving
  • Taco seasoning mix
  • Optional toppings (jalapeƱos, guacamole, salsa) for customization

Instructions

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onion and cook until it is translucent.
  • Add the ground beef (or chicken/turkey) and cook until browned.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning and follow the package instructions, adding water if needed.
  • Warm the taco shells or tortillas according to package instructions.
  • Assemble the tacos by adding the beef mixture, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, and any other desired toppings.
  • Serve with sour cream on the side.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the ground meat marinate with the taco seasoning for a little while before cooking. Use fresh ingredients for the toppings to enhance taste and texture. If you like it spicy, add jalapeƱos or hot sauce to your tacos. To store leftovers, place the beef mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Keep taco shells or tortillas separate to avoid sogginess. Store for about 3-4 days and reheat beef mixture before serving.
