For the Cake
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- Ingredients listed on the box: usually oil, water, eggs
For the Ice Cream Layer
- 1 liter 4 cups vanilla ice cream, softened
- For the Hot Chocolate Sauce
- 1 jar about 350 g / 12 oz hot fudge chocolate sauce
For Serving (Optional)
- Whipped cream
- Chocolate shavings or sprinkles
Prepare the Cake
Prepare the chocolate cake mix following the package instructions.
Pour the batter into a 23×33 cm (9×13 inch) baking pan.
Bake as directed (usually 25–30 minutes).
Allow the cake to cool completely before moving to the next step.
Add the Ice Cream Layer
Spread the softened vanilla ice cream evenly over the cooled cake.
Smooth the surface with a spatula.
Freeze for 2–3 hours, or until the ice cream is fully set.
Add the Hot Fudge Layer
Warm the hot fudge sauce just enough so it becomes pourable (not hot).
Gently spread the sauce over the frozen ice cream layer.
Return the cake to the freezer for another 1–2 hours.
Serve
Slice and enjoy!
Add whipped cream, chocolate shavings, or sprinkles for extra indulgence.
Serve immediately or keep stored in the freezer.
