Brownie Base

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional) For added texture and richness.

Cheesecake Layer

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar until combined.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Sift in cocoa powder and flour; stir gently until just combined.
  • In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan. Add dollops of the cheesecake mixture on top and swirl with a knife.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes. Check doneness with a toothpick—it should come out slightly moist but not wet.
  • Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature for best flavor. Pair with ice cream or whipped cream. Add nuts or toppings for extra texture.
