  • 1 oz Dark Rum Rich and full-bodied flavor
  • 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice Citrusy and refreshing
  • 0.5 oz Orgeat Syrup Nutty and sweet (almond syrup)
  • 0.5 oz Orange Liqueur Fruity and zesty flavor
  • 0.25 oz Simple Syrup (optional) For added sweetness

Preparation

  • Squeeze about 1 ounce of fresh lime juice into a shaker.
  • Pour in 1 ounce of white rum and 1 ounce of dark or aged rum.
  • Add 0.5 ounce of orgeat syrup and 0.5 ounce of orange liqueur.
  • For added sweetness, toss in a tiny dash (about 0.25 ounce) of simple syrup.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
  • Strain the mixture into a glass filled with crushed ice.
  • If desired, float another drizzle of dark rum on top and garnish with a lime slice or fresh mint.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients. Avoid canned juices for an authentic taste. Pair with salty appetizers for a delightful experience.
