Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup maple syrup (for the batter)

Glaze Ingredients

  • ¼ cup maple syrup (for the glaze)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking dish.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and maple syrup.
  • Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, mixing gently until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Glazing and Serving

  • In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar and maple syrup for the glaze.
  • Let the baked bars cool for 10 minutes, drizzle the glaze on top, and allow to set.
  • Cut into squares and enjoy with coffee, tea, or a glass of milk.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days or freeze for up to a month. Don't skip the spices for flavor!
