Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • Grease a 9-inch springform pan or two 8-inch cake pans.
  • Mix the Oreo cookie crumbs with melted butter and press firmly into the bottom of the pan to create a thick chocolate cookie crust.

Cake Mixing and Baking

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy and light.
  • Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  • Stir in sour cream and milk until smooth.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, then fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
  • Pour the batter over the crust and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting.

Frosting

  • For the frosting, beat butter until creamy.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream until fluffy.
  • Fold in crushed Oreo cookies for that classic cookies & cream texture.
  • Frost the cake generously and create bakery-style swirls around the edges using a piping tip.
  • Decorate with whole Oreos, chocolate dollops, and extra cookie crumbs.
  • Chill for 20 minutes before slicing for clean, bakery-style layers.

Notes

Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature before mixing for better texture. Use a piping bag for frosting for a beautiful presentation. You can apply the frosting in decorative swirls. If you’re a chocolate lover, consider adding chocolate chips into the batter along with the crushed Oreos.
