Ingredients
  

Burger Patties

  • 1 lb 80% lean ground beef
  • 1/4 lb spicy or mild Italian sausage
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Toppings

  • Pizza sauce
  • Pepperoni slices
  • Melted cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)
  • Toasted burger buns

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef and Italian sausage. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Form the mixture into burger patties.

Cooking

  • Grill or pan-fry the patties over medium-high heat until fully cooked.
  • During the last few minutes of cooking, top each patty with pizza sauce, pepperoni slices, and cheese. Cover to melt the cheese.

Serving

  • Serve the patties on toasted buns.

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to check that the burgers have reached an internal temperature of 160°F for safe eating. Experiment with different types of cheese, like provolone or pepper jack, for a unique flavor. Add crushed red pepper flakes to the meat mixture for an extra kick.
