  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp baking powder

  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and milk.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • If you want to add color, divide the batter into smaller bowls and mix in different food coloring.
  • Pour the batter into lined cupcake or baking pans, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool completely before decorating with frosting and sprinkles.

Notes

Make sure all your ingredients are at room temperature for the best results. Don't overmix the batter; mix until just combined to keep them soft. Feel free to get creative with the decorations—colorful frosting and fun sprinkles make them extra cute!
