Ingredients

For Basic Cheese Quesadillas:

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or your favorite blend)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil for frying

Optional Add-ins:

  • Cooked chicken, ground beef, or shredded pork
  • Sautéed veggies like bell peppers, onions, or mushrooms
  • Black beans or corn
  • Guacamole or avocado slices for serving
  • Sour cream and salsa for dipping

Instructions

  • Get Your Ingredients Ready:
Make sure all your ingredients are prepared before you begin. If you're adding any meat or veggies, ensure they are fully cooked and ready to go.
  • Build Your Quesadillas:
Lay out your tortillas and sprinkle about ½ cup of shredded cheese on one half of each tortilla. If you’re adding extra ingredients like meat or veggies, place them on top of the cheese. Fold the tortilla over to form a crescent shape.
  • Cook the Quesadillas:
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a little butter or olive oil. Place the quesadilla in the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, until the tortilla is crispy and golden brown and the cheese is fully melted.
  • Slice and Serve:
Once the quesadillas are done, move them to a cutting board and slice into triangles. Serve with sour cream, guacamole, or salsa for dipping.
