  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Generously sprinkle for aromatic flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Add during cooking for depth
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme Sprinkle midway while cooking
  • 1 teaspoon Curry Powder Mix in for an Indian twist
  • 1 tablespoon Soy Sauce Add for umami flavor boost

Rice and Cooking Ingredients

  • 1 cup Long Grain Brown Rice Top pick for staying fluffy
  • 2 cups Chicken or Vegetable Broth Use instead of water for flavor
  • 1 medium Diced Onion Add midway through cooking
  • 1 medium Bell Pepper Can be added midway for flavor
  • 1 squeeze Lemon Juice For a fresh finish
  • 1 tablespoon Butter Add at the end for glossy texture

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rinse the brown rice to prevent it from becoming gluey.
  • In a pot, combine the rinsed rice and broth (chicken or vegetable).
  • Bring the liquid to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
  • Add diced onion and bell pepper midway through cooking.

Cooking

  • Cook the rice until tender, about 30 minutes.
  • Stir in the garlic powder, smoked paprika, dried thyme, curry powder, and soy sauce.
  • Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice and a dab of butter before serving.

Notes

Leftovers can be used in fried rice. Store cooked rice in shallow containers in the fridge and consume within four days.
