Beef and Noodles Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast Ensure it's well-marbled for tenderness.
  • 1 each onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth Homemade or store-bought.
  • 2 cups egg noodles
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For searing the beef.

Preparation

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Sear the beef roast on all sides until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add chopped onions and minced garlic. Sauté until soft and translucent.

Cooking

  • Place the seared beef roast in a slow cooker.
  • Add the sautéed onions and garlic, pour in the beef broth, and mix in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low for about 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
  • In the last 30 minutes, add sliced carrots and egg noodles. Stir well.

Serving

  • Serve the dish hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For longer storage, freeze in a safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating. For extra flavor, substitute chicken broth or add vegetables like peas or celery.
