  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice optional
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter cubed
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup apple juice or apple cider

Instructions

Prepare the Apples

  • Peel, core, and slice the apples into 1/4-inch slices. Place them directly into your slow cooker.

Add the Sugars & Spices

  • Sprinkle the brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice (if using) over the apple slices.
  • Stir to coat the apples evenly in the sweet, warm spice mixture.

Add the Liquids

  • Pour in the apple juice (or apple cider) and lemon juice.
  • Dot the apple mixture with the cubed butter.

Slow Cook Until Tender

    Cover and cook:

    • On LOW: 3 hours
    • On HIGH: 2 hours
    • Cook until the apples are soft but still hold their shape. Stir occasionally for even cooking.

    Serve Warm

    • Gently stir and serve the apples warm as a cozy side dish—or spoon them over pancakes, waffles, biscuits, or vanilla ice cream.
