Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain) Slice against the grain for the best texture.
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch Helps to thicken the sauce and keeps the beef tender.
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup green onions (for garnish) Add right before serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Toss the sliced flank steak with the cornstarch in a mixing bowl until evenly coated.
  • Transfer the coated steak into your slow cooker.
  • Add the sesame oil, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir gently to mix well.

Cooking

  • Cover your slow cooker and cook on HIGH for 2-3 hours or on LOW for 4-5 hours until the beef is tender.

Serving

  • Right before serving, stir in the green onions.
  • Serve over rice or noodles and garnish with additional green onions if desired.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop. Consider marinating the beef in the soy sauce mixture for added flavor.
