- 1/4 cup melted butter or olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper or more for extra heat
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2-3 tablespoons cold water adjust as needed
Prepare the Oven and Baking Sheet:
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium-sized bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cayenne pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir the ingredients together until they are evenly distributed.
Form the Dough:
Gradually add the cold water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing the dough after each addition. Continue adding water until the dough just begins to come together and is smooth, but not too sticky.
Roll Out the Dough:
On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough to about 1/8-inch thickness. The thinner you roll it, the crunchier your crackers will be, so try to get it as thin as possible without tearing.
Cut Into Shapes: Using a knife or a pizza cutter, cut the dough into your desired cracker shapes (squares, rectangles, or even fun shapes like stars or circles). If you'd like, you can use a fork to poke small holes in each cracker for a more traditional look.
Bake the Crackers:
Place the cut cracker shapes onto the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crackers are golden brown and crisp. Keep a close eye on them, as they can burn quickly once they start to brown.
