Strawberry Chocolate Fantasy Ice Cream Cake

Ingredients
  

For the Cake Layers

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients for preparation) Follow preparation instructions on the box.

Ice Cream Layer

  • 1.5 cups vanilla ice cream, softened
  • 1.5 cups chocolate ice cream, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar For mixing with vanilla ice cream.

Additional Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 1.5 cups chocolate chips, melted Melt in intervals for smooth texture.
  • 1 cup whipped cream (for topping)
  • 1 cup hot fudge sauce For drizzling on top.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven according to the chocolate cake mix box. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • Prepare the cake batter as directed and pour evenly into the pans. Bake as the package says. Let the cakes cool completely in the pans before removing.
  • While the cakes cool, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between intervals until smooth. Let cool slightly.

Ice Cream Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the softened vanilla ice cream with the powdered sugar until smooth.
  • In another bowl, mix the softened chocolate ice cream until smooth.

Assembling the Cake

  • Once cakes are cooled, place one layer on a serving platter.
  • Spread the vanilla ice cream over the first cake layer, then add half of the sliced strawberries. Drizzle half the melted chocolate over the strawberries.
  • Place the second cake layer on top, spread the chocolate ice cream over this layer, add the remaining strawberries, and drizzle the rest of the melted chocolate.
  • Spread whipped cream over the top of the cake and drizzle hot fudge sauce over the whipped cream.
  • Freeze the assembled cake for at least 2 hours to set. When ready, slice and enjoy.

Notes

Let slices sit at room temperature for 3–5 minutes before serving for easier cutting. Use a hot, clean knife for neat slices.
